EXTENSION STUDIO //

Extension Studio is BOA's year-round artistic development track for singers and collaborative pianists who want to build consistent momentum. It mirrors the immersive structure of our Opera School while shifting the focus from audition outcomes to long-term artistic growth, musical identity, and sustainable practice.

Extension Studio at BERLIN OPERA ACADEMY

2026 - 2027 Cohort // Artistic Development in Berlin

Extension Studio offers a rigorous full-time framework for artists who want depth, continuity, and creative accountability. While living in Berlin, participants strengthen language fluency, refine interpretive choices, deepen stage presence, and develop a personal artistic profile through ongoing coaching, studio classes, and collaborative performance labs. Each component is built to support your long-term evolution as an artist in the European opera environment.

A typical Extension Studio day:

9:00 - 12:00

Rotating Modules: Studio Class, Movement, Text Work, Collaborative Musicianship

12:00 - 13:00

Coaching / Korrepetition / Individual Lesson

14:30 - 17:30

Daily Intensive German Language Class

19:00 - 21:00

Rehearsals, Lab Sessions, or Guided Independent Study

Each semester culminates in a showcase process built around artistic process, repertoire depth, and collaborative craft.

JOINING PROCESS // SINGERS & RÉPÉTITEURS

Step 1: Submit the Application fee using the PayPal button below.

Step 2: Complete the Application Form.

Step 3: The admissions team reviews your profile and invites selected applicants to a qualifying interview focused on goals, training history, and developmental priorities.

Cohort Deadline: May 1, 2026


Singer Submission: 2 contrasting arias in different style/language.

Répétiteur Submission: 2 recordings: one aria with singer and one operatic scene or overture.

TUITION & SUPPORT

Tuition per semester: 15800 Euro for 38 class units per week plus project rehearsals.

Tuition for all Répétiteur participants: 950 EUR per semester.

BOA staff support participants with settling in Berlin, including housing pathways and health insurance guidance.

Thanks to our donors, a limited number of scholarships are available for selected participants.
