Dominic Barberi

Dominic Barberi graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with Distinction in 2014 having studied with Stephen Robertson. During his time there he won the Jean Highgate Singing Competition, represented the RCS in the Junior Kathleen Ferrier Competition, received the Von Ibbler prize for excellence in Oratorio and was a semi- finalist in the Bampton Opera Competition.

He has performed throughout the United Kingdom as a guest soloist in works including Rossini's Petit Messe Sollenelle, Dvorak's Stabat Mater, Tippett's a Child of Our Time, Handel's Samson, Haydn's Creation and Mendelssohn's Elijah.

Dominic is currently a member of the International Opera Studio at the Berlin Staatsoper im Schiller Theatre and is supported by a Liz Mohn Culture and Music Foundation Scholarship. This season highlights include the roles of Baron Douphol in Verdi's 'La Traviata' and Pietro in 'Simon Boccanegra' under the baton of Daniel Barenboim and Tom in Verdi's 'Un Ballo in Maschera'. Next Season highlights will include Sarastro in Mozart's 'Die Zauberfloete' and Colline in Puccini's 'La Boheme'.

Dominic is a finalist in the 2017 BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competition, taking place in Wales in June.
